Kiindee is an AI-powered app that acts as a virtual advocate, supporting patients through the kidney donation process by sharing their challenge and educating potential donors.
Kiindee was inspired by Brent Cheal's personal journey. His daughter was diagnosed with kidney disease at ten, and a transplant was her only option. Brent donated a kidney, giving her a new lease on life.
Sixteen years later, her donated kidney began to deteriorate. Finding a new donor proved far more difficult, revealing how isolating and overwhelming the process can be.
With over 4,000 Canadians waiting for a kidney, deceased donor waitlists offered no immediate hope, leaving Brent's daughter in a state of uncertainty.
The prospect of finding someone to donate a kidney created an overwhelming emotional struggle, filled with guilt and anxiety, impacting important relationships.
As Brent's daughters health declined, dialysis became unavoidable, resulting in a painful departure from work and career aspirations while depending on long-term disability support.
Inspired by Brent and his daughter's real struggle with the kidney donation process, Kiindee was born. It transforms the kidney donation journey from an isolating challenge to a supported, empowered experience.
Uses AI to craft personalized, compassionate messages that help recipients confidently reach out to potential living donors without feeling desperate or uncomfortable.
Provides comprehensive, easy-to-understand resources about living donation, demystifying the process and addressing common fears and misconceptions.
Completely free platform, funded by the Renal Patient and Donor Foundation (RPDF), ensuring no financial barriers prevent connection and hope.
This platform is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Personal information is not recorded.

Organ transplantation represents one of medicine's greatest achievements, offering not just survival, but the promise of a full and meaningful life. These miraculous procedures transform patients' lives, often leading to unexpected joys - from renewed health to finding lasting love and deeper human connections.
After two difficult years on dialysis, Brent's daughter, Kaleena, received a second kidney transplant—an experience that transformed her future. Now, she shares her inspiring journey of hope and renewal.
